Young people in Batulanteh Watershed continually confront forest degradation including the widespread reduction of the charismatic and important plants.

In 2015, with the support of the Rufford Foundation, young generation in Kelungkung Village, Sumbawa, started a dialogue with their parents and the elder generation to explore history of change in the village, the folklore or stories related to the villages, and the identification of local important plants and trees in the local forest.
Passing knowledge about the local forest to the younger generation.
Together, we documented plants that are rare, special, edible and medicinal. Click here for the full list of the plants.
